Did you know?
The original Frankenstein movie does not have a film score (music in the background throughout the whole film)?
· It’s a “talkie,” so there is speech and sound effects, and there is music during the opening and closing credits, but there is no score. For technical reasons, it wasn’t until 1933’s King Kong that a film had a complete film score.
· In 2001, American composer, conductor, and author, Michael Shapiro, was commissioned by the Chappaqua Orchestra in New York to write a dramatic movie score for the classic film.
· For modern day moviegoers, Mr. Shapiro’s haunting music adds significantly to the emotional impact of the film.
